Purpose¶
This document defines the principles W7 applies when turning an idea into an initiative, product, document, or experience.
Context¶
The Values describe how W7 behaves. These principles translate those values into practical choices during creation.
Principles¶
- Begin with purpose. State who benefits, what changes for them, and why the work should exist before selecting tools or formats.
- Understand before automating. Automation should encode a process that is already understood; it must not conceal uncertainty.
- Make the smallest useful thing. Reduce scope until real value can be tested without building disposable complexity.
- Prefer evidence to assumption. Inspect the current state, test the riskiest claim, and record what was learned.
- Design for change. Keep boundaries clear, decisions reversible where possible, and durable decisions documented.
- Keep people accountable. Tools may accelerate work, but a named human owns every published decision and outcome.
- Make knowledge transferable. Document context and reasoning so the work can outlive the person or tool that created it.
- Protect trust. Privacy, security, consent, accessibility, and honest communication are requirements, not later refinements.
- Finish deliberately. Validate against the stated purpose, remove placeholders, and make the resulting state explicit.
- Enjoy the journey. Build at a sustainable pace and preserve room for curiosity, relationships, and learning.
Definition of Meaningful¶
Work is meaningful when it serves a real person or community, has a defensible reason to exist, can remain useful beyond its launch, and strengthens rather than fragments the W7 ecosystem.
